APIS Integrity Award for Outstanding Leadership
My 10th grade goes by with a recognition that I much appreciate.
It says, "Michelle Yoo demonstrated courage and perseverance in the face of hardship and obstacles in order to succeed". I like it specially because it is very true. My 10th grade year of a full of challenges, not because school program was difficult but because I wanted to do more. I went out for social activities, social clubs, international challenges, Taekwondo and Bamboo flute. Frankly I wish I could have done better on some of those initiatives but I put my efforts and am proud of it. |

Athletics
Specially during the COVID-19 days, APIS has encouraged all students to spend time to pursue athletic activities in the belief that it is critical way of maintaining mental and physical health. Debate Class
When I enrolled the debate class, I did not know what exactly it would be like. The class was a joint one among 9th, 10th and 11th graders. I was one of only three 9th graders without debate experience at school. It was challenging but also fun as I could learn and get to know other students.
This award came at my surprise as I did not think my performance was better than others. I think teachers saw me struggling yet not giving up. I like it !
